The Queensland Cancer Physics Collaborative was formed in February 2008 as recommended by a consultancy auspiced by Queensland Health’s Cancer Clinical Leaders Group (CCLG). This has been facilitated through an agreement between Queensland Health and QUT, and is aimed at serving as an integrated and comprehensive partnership associated with physics applied to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer throughout Queensland. A further benefit of the Collaborative will be breaking down professional and institutional barriers.
The primary Key Performance Indicator of the Queensland Cancer Physics Collaborative will be the recruitment of additional experienced Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists in order to meet Queensland’s planned expansion of operational Linear Accelerators by 2011.
